People will barely donate if ever, but hey, you can link to your social media, people can find you on patreon, and you can get a little bit of money that way. ![]() They're running a free service where you can gain exposure and put up a donation link. The only way you should have a problem with the nexus doing mod packs is if you have a problem with the Nexus in general, which you probably shouldn't. This would also take away from those mod pack makers on patreon who paywall other people's work without even giving any credit. It can also count towards the endorsements when the users endorse the mod pack.Įasy Peasy. When a mod pack with your mod is downloaded, it could count as a download for your mod. There's literally no difference with the nexus doing it. The Nexus will continue to earn thousands of dollars from modder's work in exchange for hosting those files and we'll get fractions of pennies for some of that work through donation points. ![]() With the nexus, however, it will be business as usual. ![]() The masses who can't drag and drop to save their lives will praise the person who sets up the mod pack and give them thousands of dollars via patreon and the people who made the mods get nothing. I think the only problem most modders have with modpacks is the idea of other people getting credit and money for their work.
